Cairo, Egypt – The Republic of Yemen will preside over an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives on Sunday, November 24, 2024, to address Israeli threats against Iraq.

Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, announced on Saturday that the meeting is being convened at the request of Iraq, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

Zaki noted that the agenda will include discussions on a memorandum from the President of the UN Security Council regarding claims of increased Israeli attacks across Iraqi territory since September. The meeting will also examine the broader threats against Iraq that could potentially escalate into a wider regional conflict.
