The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecasted cold weather in five Yemeni governorates over the coming hours on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

In its daily report, which was reviewed by Barran Press, the center indicated that the mountainous regions, specifically in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhammar, and Al-Bayda, are expected to experience chilly conditions during the night and early morning. Minimum temperatures are anticipated to range from 4 degrees Celsius in Dhammar to 7 degrees Celsius in Al-Bayda.

The center also noted that relatively cool weather will affect the highlands of Ibb, Al-Dhale, Lahij, and Abyan, where minimum temperatures will range between 8 to 12 degrees Celsius. Additionally, scattered rain clouds are expected over parts of Saada and Hajjah during the afternoon.

Coastal areas are predicted to have mostly clear to partly cloudy skies along the southern and western coasts, with similar conditions on Socotra Island. Light to moderate winds are expected in the eastern and southern coastal regions, while moderate to strong winds will affect the western coast and Bab al-Mandab.

In desert areas, generally clear weather is expected, with light winds changing directions at night and early morning, becoming moderate during the day.

The National Center for Meteorology urged citizens to take precautions against the cold temperatures in mountainous areas, especially for children, school students, the elderly, and outdoor workers during the night and early morning hours.
