Hadramout, Yemen – The Hadramout Tribal Alliance and the Hadramout Conference issued a joint statement on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, harshly criticizing the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen and threatening to escalate their activities on the ground.

The statement, reviewed by Barran Press, expressed dissatisfaction with the Council's actions nearly five months after the two groups publicly adopted the legitimate demands of Hadramout for the benefit of the public interest. They claimed that the Presidential Council lacks the necessary authority to effectively serve the nation.

The statement accused the Council of failing to address the everyday issues facing the community and being limited to political maneuvering that serves their own interests.

The two factions declared that they would not engage with the current situation, stating that "any consequences resulting from this do not concern them." They emphasized that "escalation on the ground is the only option to confront this and to put an end to such arrogant behaviors, which is necessary to restore the dignity of Hadramout and its people."

The Hadramout Tribal Alliance has been taking steps to escalate its demands against the government and the Presidential Council since July 31, when they established new positions in various areas of the province, calling for a fair share of the region's oil wealth.
