Marib, Yemen – Sultan Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, announced the completion of Phase Two of a street lighting project in Marib City on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. This initiative, funded by local authorities, coincides with the celebration of the 57th anniversary of National Independence Day on November 30.
According to the official Saba news agency, the second phase of the project involved illuminating the southern entrance of Marib City and several main and secondary streets using high-efficiency lighting systems aimed at ensuring sustainability and reducing energy consumption.
During his field visit to inspect the newly lit streets, Al-Arada emphasized the project's significance in enhancing the urban and aesthetic appeal of the city. He noted that it reflects the ongoing development of infrastructure and basic services, aligning with the urban expansion and population growth in the province.
He stated that the project is part of broader efforts to promote development, improve services, and complete infrastructure projects that support economic activities and meet citizens' needs, ultimately contributing to sustainable development in the region.
Al-Arada praised the technical teams for executing the project on schedule, stressing the importance of adhering to high-quality standards in project implementation to ensure the sustainability of services. He reaffirmed the commitment to continue efforts to execute a strategic plan aimed at developing services and creating developmental projects across all areas to meet community needs and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
