Al-Sadd Sports Club in Marib has been crowned champion of the second edition of the Handball Championship after defeating Saba Club (Harib) with a score of 44 to 30 in the final match held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the closed sports hall. The tournament was organized by the Handball Federation branch for youth and junior categories, with support from the local authorities.
Ali Al-Fatimi, the Deputy Governor of Marib, awarded the Al-Sadd team and its coaching staff the championship trophy and gold medals, while the Saba team received the runner-up trophy and silver medals. Additionally, accolades were given for the best scorer and the best team formation. Al-Fatimi congratulated Al-Sadd for winning the championship for the second consecutive time and commended Saba for finishing as the runner-up in both editions. He praised the efforts of the Youth Office and the Federation branch for their effective organization and the success of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Ali Hashwan, Director General of the Youth and Sports Office in the province, expressed gratitude for the support and interest of the local leadership in this tournament and other events. He emphasized that such initiatives contribute to the growth of the sport, the discovery of young talent, and the overall development of the sporting sector in the province.
