On Friday, November 29, 2024, Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, addressed the means to end what he termed the "Iranian occupation" of parts of Yemen, referring specifically to the capital Sana'a and areas controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi group, which is designated as a terrorist organization.
In tweets on his account on the platform X which was monitored by Barran Press, Al-Alimi noted that the anniversary of Independence Day on November 30 comes at a time when the Yemeni people, along with their armed forces and various military formations, are engaged in a decisive battle against the projects of imamate, racism, and terrorism.
He stated, "From this historic day, we have learned lessons overflowing with hope and the inevitability of victory. Patience, sacrifices, and national solidarity are the guaranteed paths to achieving our people's aspirations to restore state institutions, overturn the coup, and end the Iranian occupation of our cherished land."
Earlier today, the Yemeni news agency Saba reported that Al-Alimi and council member Othman Majli arrived in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi. The agency indicated that they would hold discussions with Emirati President Mohammed bin Zayed regarding the latest developments in Yemen and the promising prospects for bilateral relations.
Tomorrow, November 30, the Yemeni people will celebrate the 57th anniversary of the departure of the last British soldier from southern Yemen, a culmination of the struggles against imamate tyranny in the north and British occupation in the south.
On November 30, 1967, the last British soldier left Aden after 129 years of colonial rule, four years since the outbreak of the October 14 Revolution in 1963, led by revolutionary figure Rajeh bin Ghaleb Labouza.
