On Sunday, December 1, 2024, local sources in Ibb province, central Yemen, reported that a young man was killed by armed members of the Houthi movement, which is internationally recognized as a terrorist organization.

According to sources who spoke to Bran Press, an armed group led by Mohammed Al-Sarati, an official in the technical department of Ibb's governor, Abdul Wahid Al-Marwi, carried out the killing of 26-year-old Jamil Ali Naji while he was working on a plot of land near the "Mafraq Souq Al-Rajad" in the Al-Makhadir district.

The sources indicated that the armed campaign was initiated under the orders of Houthi leader Abdul Wahid Al-Marwi and took place while Naji attempted to show them a court ruling affirming his ownership of the land.

Naji's body, a member of the police department at Mafraq Habish in Al-Makhadir, was transferred to the Green Brigade Hospital in the Al-Suhul area, north of Ibb city.

Since the Houthi takeover of the legitimate government in late 2014, Ibb province has witnessed continuous violations by the group. Human rights reports documented over 6,482 crimes and violations in the province during 2023 alone, including 377 cases of murder and injury.
