Customs Authorities Seize Monitoring Devices and Smuggled Goods at Aden Customs

On Monday, December 2, 2024, responsible sources within the Yemeni Customs Authority reported the seizure of monitoring devices, ship reception equipment, and smuggled medications at the Free Zone Customs and Aden International Airport in southern Yemen.

According to the state news agency Saba, customs officials at the Aden Free Zone, in collaboration with security forces, confiscated ten ship reception devices, as well as a wireless spectrum monitoring device capable of detecting signals.

Additionally, customs officials at Aden Airport seized 11 types of various smuggled medications that lacked official permits.

The source explained that the confiscated devices are used in defense and security operations, including radar signal analysis, interference source identification, aircraft communication system testing, and navigation signal analysis.

This seizure of strategic equipment and smuggled medication is part of efforts to enforce customs laws and comply with regulations regarding imported and exported goods. The customs authorities reaffirmed their commitment to preventing the entry of any goods that do not meet official requirements into the country.
