On Monday, December 2, 2024, the Taiz Military Axis, part of the Yemeni army, announced that its forces successfully thwarted 16 infiltration attempts by Houthi militants, who are internationally classified as a terrorist group, across various fronts in Taiz province during November.
According to a monthly briefing released by the media center of the Taiz Axis, the Houthis targeted military positions using various weapons and drones, executing a number of failed infiltration attempts that resulted in significant losses for the group in terms of personnel and equipment.
The report noted that the Yemeni forces managed to kill four Houthi fighters and injure six others during these unsuccessful infiltration attempts. Additionally, it highlighted that the Houthis conducted 55 surveillance and drone strikes on military sites and residential areas during the same period.
The Houthis reportedly shelled residential neighborhoods with tanks and artillery, firing over 50 rounds, which caused extensive damage to civilian homes.
On Sunday, December 1, local sources reported that six civilians were killed and eight others injured in a drone strike carried out by the Houthis, targeting a popular market in the Al-Barasha area, west of Taiz province.
