On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Rashad Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, stated that the "Oasis of Dignity" symbolizes the shared destiny between the Republic of Yemen and the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the enduring brotherly support of the UAE in both the past and present.

Alimi made his remarks during a visit to the "Oasis of Dignity" in Abu Dhabi, where he laid a wreath at the Martyrs' Monument. He was received by UAE Minister of Justice Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi and the UAE Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al Zaabi.

According to the Yemeni news agency Saba, Alimi toured the various sections of the oasis, where he learned about its contents, which span an area of 46,000 square meters. The site includes the Martyrs' Monument, a Hall of Honor, and a Pride Square.

Alimi expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Yemeni leadership, government, and people to the Emirati martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in support of the Yemeni people, defending their national achievements and Arab identity, and countering the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

He emphasized that the sacrifices of the Emirati Armed Forces, notably the recent martyrdom of Sergeant Mohammed Al Khaili, who died after years of injuries sustained in battles for dignity and honor, will forever be etched in Yemen's national memory. These sacrifices, he noted, align with the legacy of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Since November 29, Alimi has been visiting Abu Dhabi alongside council member Othman Majali. During this visit, he is expected to engage in discussions with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed regarding the latest developments in Yemen and the bilateral relations between the two countries, highlighting their promising prospects across various levels.

Alimi underscored the significance of this visit, coinciding with the national celebrations of both brotherly nations, and the local and regional changes that necessitate efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace in Yemen and the region.
