On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Major General Sultan Ali Al-Arada, a member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, met with Dr. Abdul Qadir Bayzid, the head of the Hadhramaut Cancer Control Foundation, to discuss a preliminary proposal for establishing a specialized cancer treatment unit, named "Unit of Hope," at the Marib General Hospital.
During the meeting, Al-Arada learned about the foundation's efforts to equip the unit with necessary medical equipment and qualified staff. This initiative will be executed in collaboration with local authorities and health agencies within the province.
According to the official website of the Marib Governorate, Al-Arada received detailed insights from Bayzid and the accompanying delegation regarding the foundation’s projects and the services it provides to cancer patients in Hadhramaut and other provinces.
Al-Arada directed the formation of a joint committee comprising local government representatives, health sector officials, the National Cancer Center, and the Hadhramaut Cancer Control Foundation to coordinate efforts aimed at meeting the needs of cancer patients in Marib.
The governor praised the foundation's initiatives and reaffirmed his full support for humanitarian organizations, emphasizing the need to overcome challenges they face and create a conducive environment for their work. He acknowledged the vital role played by various humanitarian organizations and initiatives in enhancing the efforts of official state institutions and addressing the basic needs of citizens in various sectors during the current crisis.
In response, the leadership of the Hadhramaut Cancer Control Foundation expressed its gratitude to Al-Arada for his support and commitment to service and humanitarian issues, affirming the foundation’s readiness to continue its efforts to assist cancer patients throughout the country.
