On Saturday, December 7, 2024, security forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council reported the seizure of explosive devices, including suicide belts, hidden inside a house in the Al-Rajaa area of Al-Turbah district, Lahj province, southern Yemen.
According to a statement from the Security Belt Forces' media center, the forces received a tip-off regarding the presence of explosives in a residence. After confirming the information, a specialized team was dispatched to investigate and safely transport the materials to a secure location.
The operational source indicated that the seized items included five ready-to-use explosive devices, a rectangular-shaped bomb, a locally-made hand grenade, a suicide belt, as well as dozens of high-explosive items made from C-4, detonators, and a plastic bag for storing explosive materials.
The security forces managed to apprehend the primary suspect, identified as "S.A.A.M.," who confessed to hiding the explosives in a relative's home. The seized materials have been handed over to the relevant authorities, and the suspect is undergoing legal proceedings to ensure accountability.
