On December 9, 2024, the Yemen national football team was drawn into Group B of the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, alongside Lebanon, Bhutan, and Brunei. The draw took place at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to the Yemen News Agency, SABA, Group A features Tajikistan, the Philippines, the Maldives, and Timor-Leste, while Group C includes India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bangladesh. Group D comprises Thailand, Turkmenistan, Chinese Taipei, and Sri Lanka, and Group E includes Syria, Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Pakistan. Group F consists of Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, and Laos.
The final round of qualifiers will occur over six matchdays in a home-and-away format, scheduled between March 25, 2025, and March 31, 2026. The top team from each group will secure a spot in the 19th edition of the Asian Cup, set to be hosted in Saudi Arabia for the first time. These teams will join the 18 nations that have already qualified from the second round.
