On December 10, 2024, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli government's actions, which include the seizure of the buffer zone in the Golan Heights and attacks on Syrian territory.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was covered by Saudi media, the kingdom emphasized that these aggressions highlight Israel's ongoing violations of international law and its intent to undermine Syria's security, stability, and territorial integrity.

Saudi Arabia urged the international community to denounce these Israeli violations and to affirm respect for Syria's sovereignty and territorial unity, reiterating that the Golan Heights is Arab Syrian land under occupation.

This statement follows the announcement by the Syrian armed opposition on December 8, 2024, claiming control over Damascus and the fall of President Bashar al-Assad, marking the beginning of a "new era" for Syria. This development came after a significant military operation launched by opposition forces on November 27, which successfully ended over five decades of Assad family rule.
