Yemeni Leadership Discusses Support for Armed Forces in Riyadh

On December 13, 2024, Yemeni Presidential Council member Osman Mijalli met with Joint Forces Commander Lieutenant General Fahd bin Hamad Al-Sulami in Riyadh to discuss mechanisms for bolstering the Yemeni armed forces. The meeting focused on enhancing military capabilities, securing liberated areas, combating terrorist organizations, and promoting development.

Mijalli was accompanied by Yemeni Defense Minister Mohsen Al-Dhari and Chief of Staff Sagheer bin Aziz during his visit to the Joint Forces headquarters, as reported by the Yemeni news agency Saba.

During the meeting, they also reviewed the latest developments in Yemen. Mijalli praised the significant efforts of the Joint Forces leadership, underscoring the support and guidance provided by Saudi Arabia. He expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by the coalition supporting the legitimate government, stating that these efforts will be remembered in modern history as a defense of brotherhood and a response to the constitutional legitimacy and the Yemeni people's call.

The Joint Forces Commander reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Yemeni military in establishing security and stability in liberated areas, benefiting local communities.

On the previous day, a similar meeting was held at the Joint Forces headquarters, involving Mijalli , Marib Governor Major General Sultan Al-Arada, and Lieutenant General Al-Sulami to discuss the latest military developments. Al-Arada emphasized the need to intensify efforts, enhance collaboration, and responsibly address current events while improving readiness to tackle ongoing challenges.

According to the agency, the discussions included enhancing coordination across various levels and supporting military and security efforts to achieve stability, restore state institutions, and end the Houthi insurgency. Al-Arada highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships to address threats facing Yemen and the region, alongside ongoing technical and logistical support to achieve common goals.
