Yemeni Interior Ministry Arrests Seven Suspects for Drug Possession in Shabwa

On December 13, 2024, Yemen's Interior Ministry, recognized internationally, announced the arrest of seven individuals caught in possession of illegal drugs in Shabwa, located in eastern Yemen.

According to the ministry's security center, the suspects were apprehended with 80 grams of crystal meth and hashish, as well as narcotic pills and various drug paraphernalia. The authorities have retained the suspects and secured the seized items for legal proceedings, attributing the crimes to drug addiction and abuse.

In a related development, the police in Al-Mahra province reported the arrest of three individuals, including dealers and users of crystal meth, in the Qishn district. A statement on the Interior Ministry's website noted that the arrests followed surveillance and tracking efforts that identified the suspects, who were found in possession of crystal meth.
