On December 14, 2024, a child was injured in Hajja province, northwestern Yemen, by an explosive device planted by the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

According to the Yemeni Landmine Observatory, the 13-year-old boy, identified as Adel Mohammed Malhi Kadish, sustained multiple injuries, including the amputation of his left hand, when the disguised explosive detonated. The incident occurred in the Abs district while the child was tending to sheep in the Al-Muhsam area of Bani Hassan.
