Barran Press

In a significant boost for the displaced community in Marib, Yemen, the Humanitarian Access Association has delivered an additional facility for the Civil Registry and three new classrooms for Al-Thawra Secondary School in the Al-Jufayna camp. This initiative, completed for $40,000, was funded by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees as part of a rapid-impact project.

According to the official Saba Agency, Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Mathouth, Deputy Director of the Civil Registry in Marib, received the new facility designed to enhance customer service and reduce congestion at the registry's counters. The center includes four service booths to streamline transactions for clients.

Meanwhile, the Director of Education in the city district accepted the new building, which houses three classrooms equipped to accommodate around 150 students. This development aims to transition many students currently studying in dilapidated tents into proper classrooms, addressing the severe overcrowding that has far exceeded the school’s capacity.

The handover ceremony was attended by several officials, including Marib Police Chief Major General Yahya Hamid, Deputy Director of Education Abdulaziz Al-Bakri, and the UNHCR’s Marib representative Mamoun Abu Arqoub.
