On December 23, 2024, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Bakri, the administrative deputy governor of Marib, alongside Air College and Air Defense Director Major General Ahmed Al-Bahish, officially launched a new water project for the Air College, funded by the local authority in Marib, northeastern Yemen.
During the event, Al-Bakri received a briefing from Hussein bin Jalal, head of the General Water and Sanitation Authority, about the project's components, which aims to provide clean water to the college and its facilities. This initiative is part of the authority's broader plan to expand coverage for residents and facilities across the province.
Al-Bakri emphasized the importance of promptly implementing the project while adhering to specified standards. He highlighted that this initiative reflects the local government's commitment to enhancing institutional performance by supporting infrastructure development, particularly in providing safe drinking water. Notably, the college currently serves over 6,000 beneficiaries, having recently welcomed its second cohort of students.
The Air College and Air Defense Academy, inaugurated on July 16, 2023, under the leadership of Chief of Staff Major General Sagheer bin Aziz, has resumed studies for its 34th batch, marking a significant step forward in military education in the region.
