On December 23, 2024, Yemeni tribes rallied for a decisive resolution in the battle to restore the state, expressing their readiness to confront the Houthi movement, which is internationally recognized as a terrorist organization.
This call to action emerged during a discussion held in Marib, northeastern Yemen, organized by the Red Sea Center for Political and Security Studies in collaboration with the Tribal Affairs Authority. The event brought together various tribal leaders and social figures from different regions of Yemen.
Participants emphasized the need for a comprehensive tribal conference to support the legitimate government in liberating Yemen from Houthi militias and curbing Iranian expansion.
Tribal leaders sent a clear message to the political and military leadership of the legitimate government and the Arab coalition, stressing the importance of seizing this historic opportunity to dismantle Iran's foothold in Yemen. They called for the activation and support of the Tribal Affairs Authority to organize and unify tribal efforts in the national battle.
The attendees praised the resilience of tribes in Houthi-controlled areas, commending their crucial role in resisting efforts to dismantle the state and restore "superstition and servitude."
Sheikh Abdul Haq Al-Qubali Nimran, head of the Marib General Conference, urged for unity among tribes to confront the Houthi militia and to rectify misconceptions about tribal roles.
Sheikh Nagy Bin Gharib Al-Obeidi, director of the Tribal Affairs Authority in Marib, underscored the necessity of collective action against the Houthi-Iranian agenda.
Diab Al-Dabaa, executive director of the Red Sea Center, highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts with the legitimate government and the Arab coalition.
The participants recommended revitalizing the supporting tribal and social roles through the Tribal Affairs Authority and urged the resolution of inter-tribal conflicts to strengthen tribal unity. They affirmed the need for ongoing discussions to enhance cooperation among tribes and correct misconceptions about them.
