For the second consecutive day, Marib Governorate (northeast Yemen) is hosting the Knowledge Exchange Forum aimed at boosting revenue and enhancing local development. The forum focuses on sharing expertise in education and financial resource development, encouraging innovative solutions to challenges, and promoting cooperation among officials to support community growth.
On the sidelines of the three-day event, Deputy Governor Abdullah Al-Bakri expressed gratitude to the German government for sponsoring the project and to the implementing organization in Marib.
Al-Bakri told "Baraan Press" that such developmental projects contribute to sustainable community growth, benefiting a large number of displaced persons and residents of the governorate. He emphasized the importance of swiftly executing the project while adhering to specifications, highlighting that it aligns with the local authority's commitment to enhancing institutional performance through infrastructure support, including potable water and usage systems. The college, which recently welcomed its second batch of students, now serves over 6,000 beneficiaries.
Infrastructure Improvement
Dr. Ali Al-Abbab, Deputy Minister of Education in the internationally recognized Yemeni government, expressed his happiness to attend the knowledge exchange forum focused on the education sector. He thanked the organizers for the event.
In a statement to "Baraan Press," Al-Abbab emphasized addressing institutional problems, noting that proposals should be realistic and within available resources, both material and human. He highlighted the importance of proposing solutions to improve the destroyed infrastructure caused by the Houthi group's ten-year-long war, classified internationally as a terrorist organization.
Concluding his remarks, the Deputy Minister wished the forum participants success in identifying key points to enhance and develop the educational process.
A Great Experience
Abdurabbu Huleis, Assistant Director of the Marib Governor's Office, described the launch of the Administrative Research and Development Management's knowledge exchange program between provinces in Marib as a "great experience."
He told "Baraan Press" that the experience would have positive reflections, particularly in cooperation and development in the revenue field, which is the primary focus. Huleis also discussed the topics covered under education, improving the educational process, and the involvement of general managers and education offices from various provinces, including the Deputy Minister of Education.
He noted that these issues would be addressed on the final day, highlighting their importance and the benefits for Marib and other provinces through knowledge exchange, leading to administrative and economic development.
Water Network Rehabilitation
Abdurabbu Nasser Muftah, Director of the Build Foundation in Marib, mentioned that the foundation launched five water and sanitation projects. He told "Baraan Press" that these projects would benefit 2,500 families in the camps, including the host community and displaced persons.
According to Muftah, the projects involve "rehabilitating water networks, tanks, control rooms, and pumps distributed across Marib Al-Wadi neighborhoods, including Al-Rajou Water Project, Al-Maghawir Project, Al-Hani Project, and Al-Mustarah Al-Kulah Camp Project."
He noted that the projects are supported by the German DKH and GFFO organizations, forming a comprehensive service package implemented by the Build Foundation since the beginning of this year.
Muftah thanked the General Water Corporation and the local authority for facilitating these sustainable projects to provide safe drinking water for the host and displaced communities.
Hassan Jalal, Director of the General Water and Irrigation Authority in Marib, told "Baraan Press" that five projects, including the Al-Maghawir Water Project, have been implemented.
He stated that the water project includes approximately 500 household connections, benefiting citizens and increasing the resources of the General Water and Sanitation Authority in the governorate.
