On December 27, 2024, the National Coalition of political parties and movements in Yemen urged the international community and human rights organizations to exert pressure on Israel to cease its aggression and immediately stop targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. They called for accountability for the innocent lives lost in these attacks.

In a statement obtained by Barran Press, the coalition condemned the use of Yemen as a battleground in the conflict between Israel and Iranian proxies, specifically the Houthis. They demanded an immediate halt to these attacks, asserting that "the innocent lives lost are those of the Yemeni people, and the destruction of resources is a blow to our nation."

The coalition characterized the Israeli attacks as a "blatant violation of Yemen's sovereignty and a clear breach of international laws prohibiting the targeting of civilians and critical infrastructure." They emphasized that "the blood of innocent Yemenis must not be the price for regional conflicts or a tool for settling scores among international and regional actors."

Additionally, the coalition held the internationally designated terrorist group, the Houthis, responsible for the consequences of this aggression, citing their criminal policies that have turned residential areas into conflict zones and Iranian platforms, endangering the lives of innocent civilians, including women and children.

They affirmed that what they termed "Houthi terrorism," which has inflicted suffering on the Yemeni people, cannot be fought by targeting the resources and infrastructure of the Yemeni population. They expressed confidence that, with the help of their allies, the Yemeni people could liberate Yemen from the grip of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia and restore the state, ensuring peace and stability for all its citizens.

In recent days, Israeli forces have launched a series of airstrikes targeting civilian facilities in Sana'a and Al-Hudaydah, both under Houthi control. The strikes have hit Sana'a International Airport, the Dhubain and Huzez power stations, and the ports of Al-Hudaydah and Ras Isa.
