On December 28, 2024, the Yemeni Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance honored 183 individuals, both male and female, for memorizing the Holy Quran in Marib, northeastern Yemen. This recognition was part of the graduation ceremony for the sixth cohort of the Al-Diya Association for Quranic Education.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Hassan Al-Sheikh, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Memorization Affairs, congratulated the graduates on their achievement, highlighting that three female graduates received special licensing. Certificates and encouraging awards were presented to all the graduates.
Sheikh Al-Sheikh praised the vital role of associations in teaching and memorizing the Quran, emphasizing their importance in instilling correct values in youth and protecting them from extremism and terrorism, under the supervision of the Ministry of Awqaf and its offices in the provinces.
Both Hassan Al-Qubaisi, Director General of the Awqaf Office in Marib, and Dr. Hussein Al-Mousai, President of the Al-Diya Association, asserted that the approved curricula by the Ministry contribute to combating extremism and terrorism, promoting values of moderation, tolerance, and the rejection of sectarianism and its falsehoods.
