On December 29, 2024, Al-Faruq Club of Marib, northeastern Yemen, clinched the title of the Football Activation League Cup after a thrilling final match against Saba Club, winning 3-2.
The tournament, organized by the Youth and Sports Office of the Marib Valley district, featured 12 teams and spanned three weeks. The final showcased the talents of both teams, with Al-Faruq emerging victorious to claim the coveted trophy.
Abdraba Muftah, the Marib governor’s deputy, presented the championship cup to Al-Faruq, commending the vibrant sports movement in the province. He noted that the league has fostered community engagement and enthusiasm for sports.
Muftah highlighted the local authority's commitment to supporting the sports and youth sectors, which aims to enhance club performance and nurture athletic talents to represent Marib in national competitions.
Samir Awad, director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Valley district, expressed gratitude for the local government's backing of the league. He emphasized its significance in fostering competition, improving the game, and identifying young talents, equipping them with the necessary experience for future tournaments.
