On December 30, 2024, Yemen's Foreign Minister, Shaya Al-Zindani, conducted his first official call with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al-Sheibani, reaffirming Yemen's support for the new Syrian government.

During the conversation, Al-Zindanistated that Yemen aims to reopen its embassy in Damascus as soon as possible, according to a report from the official Yemen News Agency, Saba.

The two ministers exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest and expressed a desire to establish strategic Arab partnerships that would contribute to regional security and stability.

Al-Sheibani echoed the sentiment, highlighting Syria’s commitment to strengthening fraternal ties with Yemen and the importance of revitalizing and developing these relations to benefit both nations and their peoples.
