On December 31, 2024, Dr. Ali Al-Abab, Yemen's Deputy Minister of Education, inaugurated a training session for teams conducting a comprehensive educational survey in the Marib and Al-Jawf governorates. The initiative involves 51 participants and aims to assess 451 primary and secondary schools in the region.

The survey, set to commence on January 1, 2025, is being implemented by the Ministry of Education's General Department of Systems and Information, in partnership with UNESCO, UNICEF, and the World Bank as part of the Global Partnership for Education.

During the launch event, attended by Nazeer Ali Nazeer, Director General of Systems and Information at the ministry, and Khaled Ali Mohammed Al-Qudsi, Director of Computer Management, Al-Abab emphasized the importance of accuracy and integrity in data collection. He urged the participants to diligently document information from within the schools and to validate findings through direct observation to ensure the survey yields realistic and logical indicators.

Nazeer presented examples of the survey forms and highlighted their future significance in the Education Management Information System (EMIS), which will consolidate data from all governorates and facilitate direct reporting from schools via an online portal.

Representatives from the Marib Education Office, including Deputy Director Abdulaziz Al-Bakri and Training Manager Abdulnasser Al-Amari, were also in attendance at the launch.
