On December 31, 2024, local officials in Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen, conducted a field visit to oversee the distribution of food aid provided by the World Food Programme (WFP). The Coalition for Humanitarian Relief is implementing the initiative.

The delegation, which included Deputy Governor Abdul-Rahman Halis, Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Office Engineer Saleh Al-Saqaf, and Director of the Executive Unit for Displaced Persons Saif Mathna, aimed to ensure that aid reached those in need in Marib City and Marib Valley.

During their visit, the officials highlighted the importance of coordination among implementing agencies to ensure that assistance is delivered smoothly and efficiently. They praised the role of donor organizations in alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations amid the ongoing crisis.

The distribution process, which began on December 29, 2024, is slated to continue until January 4, 2025. The Coalition for Humanitarian Relief has urged beneficiaries to adhere to the designated schedules and bring original documents to facilitate the receipt of aid. They also provided a toll-free number for the WFP (8002020) and complaint lines (783385184 – 718730158) for reporting issues or inquiries.
