IBB, Yemen — On January 1, 2025, a local source reported that a man was killed and another injured during armed tribal clashes in the Al-Odain district of Ibb Governorate.
The deceased, according to a Barran Press source, was identified as Abdullah Ahmed Murshid Ali Ashour Al-Tabqi, who was riding a motorcycle when he was caught in the crossfire between armed members of the Al-Shahari family and the Al-Dumaini and Al-Wasili families in the village of Thoub in the Khabbaz district.
The clashes also resulted in injuries to another individual, Maqbel Saeed Al-Abadi, who was riding with Al-Tabqi at the time of the incident.
The village of Abtha has been embroiled in conflict for two and a half years, with ongoing violence between the Al-Shahari family and the other two families, leading to casualties among combatants and innocent civilians caught in the line of fire.
