TAIZ, Yemen — On January 2, 2025, Major General Khalid Fadl, the commander of the Taiz military axis affiliated with the Yemeni army, met with the leaders of various political parties in the governorate to discuss the role of these parties in bolstering military efforts and mobilizing fighters for the liberation of Taiz from Houthi control.

According to a statement released by the media center of the military axis and reported by Barran Press, General Fadl emphasized that such initiatives significantly boost the morale of the army and demonstrate community engagement with military efforts.

“The community, in all its components, is the main support for the army and the foundation of our victories,” Fadl stated, noting that “the army’s morale and readiness are high, and we are prepared for all contingencies.”

During the meeting, General Fadl briefed party leaders on the military situation at the front lines, highlighting that the Houthi group, classified internationally as a terrorist organization, continues to provoke the army. “However, the heroes of Taiz are vigilant and ready to counter these provocations,” he added.

In response, the leaders of the Taiz political parties expressed their full support for the army and their commitment to contributing actively to the sacred battle for the liberation of the governorate from Houthi forces. They acknowledged the gravity of the current phase and the military threats facing Taiz, underscoring the importance of political parties in supporting the army across various domains, including media, politics, and morale, as well as mobilizing fighters to the front lines.

The statement noted that the initiative for political parties to engage with the Taiz military leadership comes amid escalating military tensions from the Houthis, who have repeatedly attempted to breach the front lines surrounding the city and have engaged in daily artillery shelling of army positions and residential neighborhoods.
