MARIB, Yemen — On January 4, 2025, the Yemeni Army announced that it had detected movements of Houthi elements, classified internationally as a terrorist group, in various combat fronts in Marib province, northeastern Yemen.
In a brief statement released by the military's media center, which was reviewed by Barran Press, the army reported observing Houthi forces, reportedly backed by Iran, in several fronts to the south and west of Marib.
The statement noted that Yemeni forces are responding to "hostile" fire in these areas, although additional details were not provided.
