The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning announced on January 7, 2025, that temperatures are expected to improve across various provinces in Yemen as a cold air mass retreats.

In its daily bulletin, which was monitored by Barran Press, the center reported that the weather in mountainous regions, including Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, and Al-Bayda, is expected to be clear and cold. Temperatures in these areas are predicted to rise to around 3 degrees Celsius by dawn on Wednesday.

The center also forecasted relatively cool weather in the highlands of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, Al-Dhale, Taiz, Lahij, and Abyan, with the possibility of water vapor or fog forming in some areas. Additionally, scattered low cumulonimbus clouds may develop, accompanied by isolated rain showers in parts of the western highlands during the afternoon and evening.

In coastal regions, partly cloudy weather is anticipated in the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern and southern coasts, with a chance of light, scattered rain in some areas. Moderate to brisk winds are expected along the southern western coast and Aden Gulf, with speeds reaching up to 21 knots, which may cause rough seas and increased wave heights.

The center noted that desert regions will experience clear and relatively cool weather in the provinces of Al-Jawf, Marib, Shabwa, and Hadramout during the nighttime and early morning. The weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening, with moderate winds occasionally stirring up dust and sand.
