Iran-backed Houthi militants have committed severe atrocities against residents of "Hanka Al-Masoud" in the Al-Quraishiyah district of Al-Baydha governorate, central Yemen.

According to reports, the Iran-backed Houthis militia on Sunday conducted field executions, abducted citizens, and looted and burned homes. Witnesses described the situation as "tragic" and likened the events to a "genocide."

Houthi forces reportedly burned five houses and rigged six others with explosives. They have also cut off communication and internet services in the area to conceal their actions.

Nasser Al-Sana”a, a journalist from Al Baydha, said on Facebook that the Houthis executed civilians, including the wounded, and left their bodies at the village's doorsteps. Ishraq Al-Maqtari, a member of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Human Rights Violations, stated that Houthi forces continued to raid homes, looting valuables and confiscating property.

Eyewitnesses reported that seven days of intense shelling, involving medium and heavy weaponry, destroyed seven homes and damaged most others in the village.

The escalation began with an attack on a Houthi patrol by young men angered by the group's actions. Following a four-day siege, Houthi forces stormed the village, forcing families to flee and indiscriminately targeting civilians with heavy weaponry.

This attack is the latest in a series of conflicts waged by the Houthis against the tribes of Al Baydha since their entry into the province in late 2014.
