On January 14, 2025, the Abductees' Mothers Association held a protest in Taiz, southwest Yemen, against the neglect and politicization of the abductees' issue. They condemned the delays from local and international authorities.

Held in front of the local authority building, the protest demanded the immediate release of all abductees. The association denounced the ongoing abductions and disappearances of civilians, including activists and women, without legal justification.

There are still 815 abductees and 164 forcibly disappeared individuals in Yemen's prisons, mostly in Iran-backed Houthi-controlled areas. The association condemned the failure to achieve justice for these victims.
