Th UN said that airstrikes had slashed Hodeidah Port's capacity to receive aid imports to just 25%. Julian Harness, UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, detailed the significant damage, including the sinking of four tugboats.
Despite the recent Gaza ceasefire, tensions between Iran-backed Houthis and Israel persist. Since last week, the Houthis vowed to limit attacks to Israeli-linked ships if the ceasefire holds. Israeli airstrikes have targeted Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen in retaliation.
Harness urged focus on peace and noted that humanitarian agencies have contingency plans in place.
