Mohammed Ali Al-Naseem, a former prisoner of the Iran-backed Houthi militia, died just days after his release.
According to sources close to Al-Naseem, his health had severely deteriorated due to five years of harsh physical and psychological torture while in Houthi detention. Al-Naseem, an officer in the 29th Mechanized Brigade of the Seventh Military Region, was captured on the Nihm frontlines.
His wife passed away from a sudden illness during his imprisonment. Despite his repeated requests, the Houthi militia denied him permission to visit his wife before her death.
As Al-Naseem's health worsened, the Houthi militia transferred him to a military hospital and contacted his family on January 20, 2025, regarding his medical condition. Despite the family's efforts, Al-Naseem succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
