Five civilians, including a child, were injured in separate landmine explosions in Al Hudaydah and Al Jawf, Yemen, on Monday, according to a rights monitor.  The Yemen Landmine Monitor reported on X platform, as observed by Barran Press, that a father and son were injured in Al Khawkhah, Hodeidah when their vehicle struck a landmine planted by the Iran-backed Houthis.  Mohammed Ali Abdullah, 52, suffered multiple injuries, while his 10-year-old son, Mousa, lost parts of both legs.
In a separate incident in Al-Yatmah, Khabb wa ash Sha'af, Al Jawf, three civilians were injured by another Houthi-planted landmine on a desert road.
These incidents underscore the devastating impact of landmines in Yemen.
UN reports estimate that the Houthis have planted approximately two million landmines, resulting in over 20,000 civilian casualties.  Human rights organizations have condemned the Houthis for creating what they call "the largest minefield ever" in Yemen and continue to demand they provide minefield maps to facilitate demining efforts.
