The General Electricity Corporation of Aden has announced that the city, Yemen's temporary capital, will experience a complete power outage beginning at midnight due to a critical fuel shortage.
The power plant supplying Aden has exhausted its fuel reserves, and without a significant load center like the main power station or the Mansoura station, the city's solar power generation cannot compensate for the loss. As a result, all essential services, including hospitals, water supplies, and businesses, will be severely affected.
The corporation expressed deep regret over this unprecedented situation, emphasizing that despite their best efforts and repeated appeals to relevant authorities, the fuel crisis has reached a critical point. They warned of the severe consequences of this blackout, including disruptions to vital services and increased hardship for the city's residents.
The head of the Hadramaut tribal confederation, Amro bin Habrish, ordered the suspension of crude oil exports to Aden until the Presidential Leadership Council addresses their demands.
The General Electricity Corporation has urged the leadership of Hadramaut, including Faraj Al-Bahsani and Mabkhout bin Madi, to intervene immediately and ensure the supply of sufficient fuel to prevent a complete blackout.
