Yemen's internationally recognized government announced the apprehension of a second cell linked to the Iran-backed Houthi militia within 24 hours. The latest arrests occurred in Abyan governorate, in southern Yemen, following a similar operation in Hadhramaut governorate in the east.
The Abyan police department, in a statement released by the Ministry of Interior's media center, confirmed the successful raid and the arrest of five individuals suspected of being members of the Houthi cell. The detainees are currently in custody and undergoing investigation, after which they will face legal proceedings.

This announcement follows the capture of another Houthi cell in Hadhramaut earlier the same day.
