The Yemeni Islah Party, in a statement released on February 8th and accessed by "Barran Press," strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent remarks against Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its support for the Kingdom's position on the Palestinian people's right to statehood.
Islah spokesman Adnan Al-Odaini expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's steadfast stance on the Palestinian issue and rejected the previous U.S. administration's proposal regarding the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. Al-Odaini called on the international community to take a stand against Israel's actions, characterizing Netanyahu's suggestion of establishing a Palestinian state on Saudi territory as a provocation that infringes upon the sovereignty of Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
Netanyahu's comments, made during a February 6th interview with Israel’s Channel 14, where he suggested Saudi Arabia had ample land for a Palestinian state, have drawn widespread criticism.
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, cautioned that Netanyahu's remarks could escalate regional conflicts and threaten global security. The Arab Parliament firmly rejected these statements, deeming them a violation of international law and Saudi sovereignty.
Just prior to Netanyahu's comments, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its commitment to an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, underscoring its rejection of any infringement on Palestinian rights.
