A woman was critically injured by a Houthi sniper in Taiz, southwestern Yemen, on Sunday, according to local sources.
September Net, the Yemeni army's website, reported that Noor Ghalib was shot in the head late Saturday while gathering firewood near her home in the Asifra area. She was immediately transported to a hospital for treatment.
Human rights reports document that since 2015, the Iran-backed Houthi group has been responsible for 3,021 civilian deaths and 6,361 injuries in Taiz, including women and children. These casualties are attributed to sniping, shelling, and landmines.
