The Third Yemen International Forum opened Sunday in Amman, bringing together over 300 Yemeni representatives, diplomats, and international experts.

Yemeni Foreign Minister Shayea Al-Zindani, speaking at the forum organized by the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies, reaffirmed the government's commitment to ending the war, citing Houthi intransigence as a key obstacle. He reiterated the government's pursuit of a political solution based on national partnership, emphasizing the importance of national unity, adherence to UN resolutions—including Resolution 2216 on arms shipments to the Houthis—and increased international pressure on the group, including designating the Houthis as a terrorist organization.

Jeannette Seppen, the Netherlands' Ambassador to Yemen, highlighted the impact of the Red Sea conflict on humanitarian and security conditions, stressing that military solutions are unsustainable. She pledged continued Dutch support for intra-Yemeni dialogue.

The opening session included a solidarity stand for detainees held by the Houthis. Ambassador Seppen underscored the need for comprehensive dialogue, warning against narrowly defined agreements.

Majid Al-Madhaji, chairman of the Sana’a Center, explained that Amman was chosen as the venue due to the interconnectedness of Yemen’s crisis with regional dynamics. He emphasized the unprecedented threats facing Yemeni civil society, citing the targeting and arrest of humanitarian workers.

Julien Harneis, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, expressed disappointment with Houthi actions, particularly the arrests and detentions of humanitarian aid workers.
