Armed members of the "Madhhaj and Himyar" tribes assembled on Friday in Marib, Yemen, launching a general mobilization to confront the Iran-backed Houthis. Tribal leaders from Marib, Al Bayda, Dhamar, and other provinces attended the gathering, signaling broad support.

According to Barran Press, the tribes vowed to use all available means to liberate Yemen and restore state authority, rejecting any political compromises with the Houthis. They stressed the need for national and tribal unity to counter what they called the "Iran-backed Houthi project," warning that internal divisions only strengthen the coup leaders. The tribes framed their resistance as a defense of Yemen’s national identity, labeling the Houthis an extension of the Imamate regime toppled in 1962.

Describing the fight as a national obligation, the tribes urged the convening of a "Yemeni Tribal Conference" to coordinate efforts. They also pressed the internationally recognized Yemeni government to declare a full-scale liberation campaign, return to Yemen to lead on the ground, and provide military and logistical backing to frontline fighters. Additionally, they appealed to the Arab coalition for sustained support until Yemen is freed and its people’s hardships alleviated.

At the close of the gathering, the "Madhhaj and Himyar" tribes pledged to continue their stand against the Houthis until Yemen is fully liberated, affirming the right of all displaced Yemenis to return home.
