On February 23, 2025, military sources reported that the Yemeni army thwarted attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis across fronts in Marib, Al Jawf (northeast), and Taiz (southwest Yemen). According to the Armed Forces Media Center, the army neutralized Houthi fire on multiple Marib fronts, destroying artillery positions and inflicting casualties. Army artillery also struck heavy equipment used for Houthi fortifications and trenches in western Marib. In northwestern Marib, government troops countered artillery, mortar, and drone assaults.
In eastern Al Jawf, the army silenced Houthi fire in Al-Alam, Al-Jadafer, and Shahlah frontlines. In Taiz, government forces reportedly targeted and neutralized Houthi fortification equipment on Al-Kadaha and Al-Dabab fronts, while also responding to fire near the old airport on the western front.
