Twenty-two sheep were killed by a landmine planted by the Iran-backed Houthis, south of Marib,on Sunday.
A local source in Marib Governorate reported that Saleh Saeed Al-Qubaisi was herding 25 sheep in Jabal Al-Duma area of the Mala’a mountain range, located between the Harib and Al-Juba districts, when the animals triggered the explosion. Al-Qubaisi survived the incident.
The sheep were being herded from pasture towards Wadi Harib for sale at the Harib city market. The source confirmed that the Houthi group has planted landmines along routes used by shepherds in the mountainous region between Al-Juba, which is under Houthi control, and Harib, controlled by the Southern Giants Brigades since January 2022.
