On Sunday, security sources in Lahj, southern Yemen, reported that a maritime patrol seized a boat in Yemeni territorial waters carrying 164 African migrants, including 37 women.
According to a joint security campaign statement obtained by Barran Press, the interception occurred on the first day of Ramadan as the vessel attempted to breach Yemeni shores. The migrants, smuggled in inhumane conditions without documentation or entry permits, were detained for deportation pending legal steps. The patrol arrested the three crew members, who now face human trafficking charges and prosecution.
