Two beekeepers were killed and two others injured on Thursday when a landmine, planted by the Iran-backed Houthis, exploded in the Al-Durayhimi district of Hodeidah province, western Yemen, according to rights sources.

The Yemeni Landmine Observatory identified the victims as Fouad Ahmed Quba, 30, and Fawri Khalil Hakami, 37. The blast occurred in the "Koud Anbah" area as they were transporting beehives.
This incident follows a separate landmine explosion in the same district on Wednesday, which claimed the lives of four civilians, including a child.
UN reports estimate that approximately two million landmines, laid by the Iran-backed Houthis, have resulted in over 20,000 civilian casualties, with women and children disproportionately affected. Rights organizations condemn the Houthis' extensive use of landmines, effectively turning Yemen into what they describe as "the largest minefield ever." These organizations continue to demand that the Houthis provide landmine location maps to facilitate demining efforts and prevent further civilian deaths.
