On March 11, 2025, Saleh Al-Saqqaf, Marib's General Director of Planning and International Cooperation, met with Maria Angera De Sojo, Head of the WFP Field Office in Marib, to address delays in aid distribution and related challenges.
They discussed issues affecting the timely distribution of food aid, including halted support from some donors, which has worsened the humanitarian situation for displaced families and the host community.
Al-Saqqaf emphasized the need to re-enlist removed families and improve food aid contents, stressing the importance of regular aid distribution. He highlighted the severe impact of delays, noting Marib hosts over two million displaced people, making it a critical area for food support.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming the need for enhanced coordination to ensure timely aid delivery.
