On Tuesday, the Yemeni Army announced it successfully repelled Houthi attacks on its positions in Marib and Al-Jawf governorates, northeastern Yemen, claiming to have destroyed Houthi equipment and weaponry.
According to the Defense Ministry website, "September Net," a military source reported that army forces thwarted Houthi attacks in the "Al-A'iraf" sector, southern Marib, inflicting significant casualties and equipment losses on the Iran-backed Houthis. One soldier was killed and four injured.
In northern and western Marib, the army targeted Houthi movements, destroying fortification equipment and disabling artillery. They also intercepted a Houthi drone.
In Al-Jawf, army forces repelled Houthi attacks in "Al-Jadafer" front, injuring two soldiers. The army reported disabling Houthi weapons and vehicles, inflicting casualties, and intercepting a Houthi drone on Al-Alam front.
Since the beginning of the year, the Houthis have escalated combat operations in several Yemeni governorates, ending a period of relative calm. This escalation has raised concerns about a potential wider conflict.
