U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that nightly operations against the Iran-backed Houthis will persist until the group, designated as terrorists, can no longer threaten U.S. naval forces or global shipping. Speaking on March 24, 2025, Rubio noted that while Houthi missile attacks in the Red Sea fall short of their targets, the U.S. remains committed to neutralizing the threat.
Rubio warned Iran against aiding the Houthis, vowing accountability for any support. He also reiterated President Trump’s readiness to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, favoring diplomacy but leaving military action on the table if necessary.
Since March 15, U.S. airstrikes have targeted Houthi positions in Yemen, reportedly killing 53 and injuring 98, according to Houthi sources. The U.S. confirmed the elimination of senior Houthi leaders.
