In a significant escalation, U.S. forces executed a large-scale operation against Iran-backed Houthi targets in Yemen since the early hours of Friday, March 28, 2025. The strikes, numbering over 40, targeted key Houthi infrastructure across multiple provinces, including the capital, Sana'a.

This followed additional U.S. airstrikes conducted late Thursday.
Houthi media reported that 19 strikes focused on Amran province, specifically targeting locations in Al-Labda, Al-Amshiya, and Al-Jabal Al-Aswad. Sana'a witnessed five strikes on Sana'a International Airport, General Command at Al-Qiyada Street, and the Sarf and Al-Sawad neighborhoods. Further strikes were reported in Saada, Hodeidah, and Al-Jawf provinces, with Al-Asaid in Kitaf district and Al-Salem in Saada among the targeted areas.

The White House confirmed the operation, stating that over 100 targets were struck, including senior Houthi leaders, air defense systems, command centers, and weapons manufacturing facilities. U.S. officials reported significant success in the operation, emphasizing the aim to restore safe navigation in the Red Sea and protect American vessels.
